Starting in 2025, A&M will increase security on its online services portal by integrating Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

What is MFA and why is it important?

In this digital age, securing data and information is of paramount importance. MFA plays a vital role in strengthening security by adding an extra layer of protection. While traditional security methods, such as using a single password, can be vulnerable, MFA makes it much more difficult for unauthorized persons to gain access.

MFA helps counteract the human factor in security risks. People tend to use simple, easy-to-remember passwords, and often reuse them across multiple accounts. This makes them vulnerable. MFA reduces this risk by requiring users to provide a second form of authentication.

In addition to MFA, we can also offer optional Single Sign-On (SSO) so that administrators can log in more easily via one central account.

How does MFA work on the A&M Portal?

  1. Log in with your username and password.
  2. Request an MFA token via SMS or email.
  3. Copy the MFA token into the portal.
  4. You have successfully and securely logged in.

 

  • MFA only applies to administrators with administrator rights.
  • The MFA token can only be sent to the mobile number or email address linked to your account.

When does MFA apply to my portal?

The start-up and roll-out of this verification method will take place in different phases for organizational reasons. We will already start informing the first customers from April 2025.

Have you not received any communication? No worries, you can certainly expect it. The aim is to complete the roll-out for all customers before the end of Q2 2025.

For information: MFA only applies to users with an administrator role. MFA does not apply to all other (standard) users, who do not have administrator rights.
